Adam Bień Park Adam Bień Park

Located in Północ residential quarter, between Opatowska street and Jana Pawła II street, the park offers walking paths, a children’s playground and an outdoor gym. Plenty of trees provide shade on hot summer days. There are two monuments in the park.

One of them is dedicated to the victims of the Katyn massacre which came from Staszów, officially known as the monument to the “Military and police officers murdered in the East”. The other one is Adam Bień’’s Bench. Bień was one of the leaders of the Polish Underground State and the First Deputy Government Delegate for Poland between 1943 and 1945. He was convicted in the staged “Trial of the Sixteen” and imprisoned in Moscow. Adam Bień is the patron of the park.
