Palace and Park Complex in Kurozwęki Palace and Park Complex in Kurozwęki

The palace in Kurozwęki is the most valuable and most interesting secular architectural monument in the Staszów region. It is six centuries old and combines a number of architectural styles. The first palace on the broads of the Czarna river was built before 1400. It was rebuilt and expanded first in the 15th century and then around the year 1500. In the 17th century, the palace was remodelled in early Baroque style, but it wasn’t until the second half of the 18th century that it received its final architectural form and appearance when the entire complex was renovated in Rococo style.

Over the centuries, the palace in Kurozwęki was the home of Poland’s most powerful aristocratic houses, including the Kurozwęcki, Lanckoroński and Sołtyk families.

The park was created in the second half of the 17th century when the palace was owned by the Sołtyk family. There are two pavilions in the park, oriented perpendicular to the palace.

The Palace and Park Complex in Kurozwęki has a number of attractions, including a herd of American bisons, a children’s playground, and a brewery and restaurant, serving local beer and bison burgers. Other available activities include horseback riding and bison safari.
