The municipality of Staszów is located on the route of one of the most famous pilgrimage ways in the world, marked by the characteristic signs with scallop shells on blue background. The history of the Way of St James (Camino de Santiago) dates back to early Middle Ages when pilgrims who wanted to give thanks for the blessings they received, or do penance for their sins, set out to Spain to the sanctuary of St James in Santiago de Compostela. One of the branches of Via Regia follows the old route which in the Middle Ages connected Sandomierz and Krakow. On the territory of the Staszów municipality, the way runs to Smerdyna and then Czajków where it turns west and reaches Wiśniowa, heading further to Sztombergi where it intersects the road to Staszów. After the intersection with the busy road, the way follows a forest path through Czernica and Wola Osowa to Kotuszów.
